Social Media is Just Social Media

Posted on August 31, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Social media is wide open right now for traffic and lead generation.
But the funny thing is that many people still don’t even know what social media is.

The technical definition according to Wikipedia says that:

Social media is Social Media

Social media is media for social interaction, using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques.

Yeah.  That sounds all technical but social media is just that. It’s a social way to share and exchange information to say the least.  For marketing purposes people get involved in social media and for some reason they think that the used car salesman approach is going to work.  Social media revolves around the conversation so the more involved you become with the conversation the more interaction you’ll receive.  The interaction is what you want because just like more people coming to your open house, the more traffic the more people are likely to participate in your offer.

Take a look at this article by Customer Think, SEO and Social Media are Inextricably Joined at the Hip. It should inform you about both SEO and Social Media which are not the same but they do work hand and hand.

Stray Rescue Animal Shelter Rent-a-Pet Program in STL

Wouldn’t it be nice to play with your favorite pet for the weekend, feed him, walk him and love on him as much as you could then return him to Stray Rescue Animal Shelter?  Well, I imagine it would become a bit hard to let go.  Maybe that’s the point of Stray Rescue’s Rent-a-Pet Program.

They will supply the pet food, leashes, pet bowls, pet toys and everything you would need to show your rent-a-pet unconditional love.

You might be thinking that it would be a sad occasion to have a pet for only a few short days.  But that time would mean so much to a dog or a cat who has been away from an intimate relationship with an owner.

Consider the Stray Rescue Rent-a-Pet-Program.  See if a pet is something that you can handle in you and your family’s life right now.

Be inspired by Arnold Chavis and his story of how Rugby has impacted his life.

We continue to find young men and women that defy the odds of their environments, where they grew up or their backgrounds.  With a piercing tenacity and an iron discipline Arnold Chavis used the game of Rugby to make it into college.

Arnold Chavis is from the Bronx, New York, one of the toughest places for a child to grow up in America but he defied the odds of the “naysayers.”  Kids here at Oxford Hill Apartments and all over our country can use this inspiration to reach for their dreams with confidence.

Arnold Chavis Rugby Inspiration

Rugby is one of the fasted growing sports in America.  Just last year over 100,000 kids played Rugby for the first time according to the U.S Rugby Organization.

If you’ve seen the movie Invictus then you can see how Nelson Mandela used the game of Rugby as a tool to bring unity to the citizens of South Africa.  Teacher and Coach Lisa Lake was thinking along the same lines as Nelson.  With 100% of the players on Lisa’s Rugby team graduating, I’d say that it worked pretty good.

You can defy the odds and live out your dreams in St. Louis or anywhere on this planet. Take a look at this video from ABCNews and Marysol Castro to see more.

Doing Laundry

There’s this little detail that probably wasn’t mentioned as a part of College, it’s called laundry.  When you get to school there are no maids, of course you could have some special friends who may help you to do your laundry but that runs short when you need it most.  The bottom line is that you need to how to do your own laundry and it’s not hard.

The good thing about doing laundry is that the basics are all you need to know.  Once you get the fundamentals you can become an expert laundry-smith.

The Basics of Doing Laundry

  • Sort your clothes properly
  • Don’t overload the washer
  • Don’t over dry your clothes

Check out this video that gives you a run down on How to do Laundry from HowCast

Regular Workout

You don’t have to workout everyday in order to stay in shape.

Most of the residents here at Oxford Hills Apartments have a busy schedule but their are still many people going over to the fitness center or the pool to workout, especially on the weekends.

Consider this a Friday gift from Oxford Hills Apartments here is a better way to manage your schedule that will help you to create a healthier and more physical fitness lifestyle.

First things are First You Must Commit to a Regular Workout Schedule

You have to commit to a specific workout schedule but it should be something that fits your lifestyle.  If you work a 40-hour workweek and have to still cook dinner for the kids when you get home then commititing to a solid hour everyday may not be the best workout plan in the beggining.

You might choose to set 15 minutes every other day to get into the routine of weekly exercise.  You can even choose to double up on the weekends.  It doesn’t take a long to workout and reap the benefits of it as long as you’re consistent in your routine.

Put this into action starting today and in a month from now you’ll notice a big difference in your energy levels and perhaps even in your physical shape.

Illumination

You won’t believe how much the lighting in your apartment can effect the motivation on your life.

  • When you decorate your apartment how often do you consider your the lighting?
  • Have you ever considered using more mirrors in each room to reflect more of the natural light?
  • How about balancing the amount and placement of the electric lights that are in your apartment?

These are just a few things to consider for making your apartments feel more like a home and increasing the natural motivation in your own life.  If your apartment is always dark and gloomy it will have an impact on the personal energy and the amount of ambition that you have in life.

The Lights in Your Apartment and Your Personal Motivation

Grr! But Why Am I Angry?

Have you ever been around someone who was just mad or angry all the time?

Anger management teaches you to deal with change and channel your energy to feel calm and positive.

I grew up with a friend who used to get mad all of the time.  He wanted to be a really nice person but his fuse was so short for tolerating small petty things that he would just go off at the drop of a hat, literally.  His anger wasn’t always bad though we made it out of some harmful situations being friends.  With his angry facial expressions and my cool presence we were like good cop bad cop together.

My friend did eventually go on to take some anger management classes; his wife, which was his girlfriend at the time talked him into it.  His whole demeanor is different after after these classes. The way that he carries himself and treats others is more that admirable, he is a person that is very worthy of being modeled and people just seem to flock to him.

My friend came and told me one day that his anger was really fear that he didn’t know how to deal with properly… Whoa!

St. Anthony’s Hyland Behavioral Health is offering anger management classes beginning this Thursday at 6:30p – 8:00p at the St. Anthony’s Medical Center.  For more information about visit St. Anthony’s Medical Center.

If you know that you have a short fuse for becoming upset then you owe it to yourself and those who love you to resolve any issues that you may have wrestling on the inside of you.  this anger management class could be help.
